Maiden’s FootBridge Forty Hall

18 May 2022

Rhinoceros start work on the footbridge which is situated adjacent to Maiden Bridge originally built in 1761 but largely rebuilt in 1968 following extensive damage caused by a lorry. Local legend has it that this bridge is at the spot where Sir Walter Raleigh spread his cloak over a puddle for Queen Elizabeth 1 to walk on.
